ROYAL PICTURES.
Sir Arthur Wing Pinero’s greatest drama of domestic life, “Mid-Chan-nel,” one of the most brilliant of stage successes, is unquestionably the greatest triumph of Clara Kimball Young since her lirst screen appearance. “Mid-Channel” is a throbbing drama of the temptations and follies; of married life so truthful to fact that no mature person will leave this powerful picture without carrying away memories of life’s lesson. It does not dodge the truth, it unfolds human weakness so dramatically as to strike a sympathetic chord in every heart. Duo praise for this masterpiece would not be complete without mention of the superb scenic effects and multicoloured surroundings that is as luxurious as it has been costly, and which heightens the magnificence of the entire picture. This picture, with
“Terror Trail” as an extra, will be shown to-night. On Monday a Realart picture, “The Soul of Youth,” will be the star attraction. This is a story that shows you the kid you once were, and the kind your grandchildren will me. For childhood is always the same —eager, merry, loyal, hopeful. It’s only the surroundings that differ, so that- one child gets a square deal, while some other child, just as good l , never has a chance. All men and women were kids once. That fact ought to make us adults more sympathetic and friendly and helpful to the man and woman who are kids now. Suggestion is a powerful influence. Tell a boy that he is the worst boy you ever saw, and nine chances out of ten he will believe you and live up to his reputation. See yourself as a boy again in “The Soul of Youth,” at the Royal on Monday. Prices, 6d and Is Id. The finest serial ever shown, “The Lure of the Circus,” commences on Wednesday next.
