HOROWHENUA POWER BOARD
ELECTION OF BOROUGH REPRESENTATIVE. Very little interest was shown in the election of a representative for the Borough of Foxton on the Horowhenua Hydro-Electric Power Board, the number recording thenvotes yesterday being only 227, out of a total roll number.of 830. The result was as follows: — WHIBLEY, F. D 132 CHRYSTALL, John 93 Informal 2 After the returning officer (Mr Wm. Trueman) had announced the result of the voting, Mr Whibley briefly thanked the electors for their support, and said he would do his best to justify the confidence they had reposed in him. On his call, three cheers were given for the unsuccessful candidate. Mr Chrystall called for three cheers for the winning candidate, and then thanked the electors for their support, and congratulated Mr Whibley on his..success-. HOROWHENUA COUNTY.
The result of the poll taken for the election of three members for the constituent district of Horowhenua County resulted as follows : MONK, G. A 132 BROWN, A. A ' 75 SEIFERT, Alfred 59 HARKNESS, C. 1 59 ADKIN, W. G 57 A recount is being held to-day.
