MYSTERIOUS FIRE AT RONGOTEA.

GERMAN SCHOOL DESTROYED. A former Lutheran Church, which was recently moved from the Palmerston North-Kairanga road to Avon Street, Rongotea, and converted into a German day school, was totally destroyed by fire at about half-past nine o’clock on Sunday night. The alterations to the building were only completed on Saturday, and it was to have been opened as a school yesterday. The origin of the fire is unknown. The value of the building was about £4OO or £SOO.
