THE LILAC DOMINO
J. C. Williamson’s greatest of all comic operas, “The Lilac Domino,” will be staged at the Town Hall on Friday night, for one night only, and if Fotxon theatregoers fall into line with Sydney, Melbourne, Auckland and Wellington theatregoers, a packed house will result. Some say the enjoyment is in the beautiful music, others the gorgeous colour schemes and the dancing, others in the' exceptional dramatic interest, and some consider the unusual comedy the attraction. Whatever it is, “The Lilac Domino” is a recordbreaker. And the Sydney run has only once in the history of Her Majesty’s theatre been eclipsed, and that by “Our Miss Gibbs,” which enjoyed an uninterrupted run of nine months, against six for “The Lilac Domino” in practically slump time. Wherever you go in Australia everyone is talking about it. The appeal of the glorious music and the real comedy attributing to the success of this wonderfully fascinating production, and the finale to the second act is gorgeous, leaving the audience enraptured. Box plan is available at Heath’s, where seats may be reserved without extra charge.
