ELECTRIC POWER BOARD.
PALMERSTON, MANAWATU AND . KIWITEA NOMINATIONS.
Nominations of representatives of three constituent local bodies in connection with the election of the Manawatu-Oroua Hydro-Electric Power Board closed on Tuesday, the three bodies being: Palmerston North Borough Council, the Manawatu County Council, and the Kiwitest County Council. In no case did the nominations exceed the required number, and an election, so far as these bodies are concerned, will not be necessary.
Palmerston Borough (three representatives required) : Mr J. A. Nash, M.P. (Mayor), and Councillor M. A. Eliott, and one to be appointed.
Manawatu County Council (two delegates) : Sir James Wilson (chairman of the Council), and Councillor PI. 11. Hunt.
Kiwi tea County Council (one delegate) : Councillor L. S. McLean. Two boroughs and five counties comprise the Manawatu-Oroua district, namely, Palmerston North and Feilding boroughs, and the Alanawntn, Oroua, Pohangina, ..Kairanga, and Kiwitea counties. Feilding Borough is entitled to one representative on the Board. Oroua County two, Kairanga County two, and Pohangina County one. The total membership of the Board, when elected, will be twelve. The Horowhenua Board will consist of one representative each from the Foxton, Shannon, Levin and Otaki boroughs, three representatives from the Horowhenua County, and one each from the Manawatu and Hutt Counties, making nine members in all.
