BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY.
A well-attended Committee meeting of the above was held on Thursday night, presided over by Mr Perrenu. Rules for the government of the Society were read and adopted, to he confirmed at the annual meet-
The question of cost of maintenance work such as cutting grass and weeding in the old cemetery and Easton Park, was discussed. It was considered that day labour would be too costly, and that it would be advisable to. employ a caretaker for a definite period at a salary to be paid equally by the Society and Council. It was pointed out that as very little work would now be required to be done, that the question of such appointment be held over until the annual meeting. It was decided to leave certain work and requirements in the bands of the Finance Committee.
