HOROWHENUA A. & P. SOCIETY.

TWO DAYS SHOW,

A good deal of credit is due the Horowhenua A. and P. Association for the progressive policy it has pursued of recent years, with the result that the show now occupies two days, and is undoubtedly one of the best two-day exhibitions among the smaller associations to be found in this Island. Not onlyNloes the schedule cater for all classes of stock, but there is a liberal sprinkling of horse competitions and races, sheep dog trials, jumping, and other similar events, that convert the show into an entertaining ns well as an educative event. For this reason its popularity during the past few years has reached to quarters where its influence was not previously known, and will extend further still. The Association, recognising that the support being given the competitions demanded better provision in t he way of suitable ground, has laid out a permanent competitions ring opposite the grand stand, and these events will in future be held where the best, possible view will be obtained by the public. This year the final of the sheep-dog trial will be held on the second day, so that it, may be witnessed by the large numbers who attend on People’s Day. This is a good provision, and will be appreciated. In every way the programme is up-to-date, and interesting, and it only requires the support of exhibitors and the -general public to make the forthcoming fixture the best in the Association’s history. The dates of the Show are January 18th and 19th.
