BOWLING.
A match for the Nye Ferns was played on the local green yesterday. The possibilities of play seemed remote in the early part of the afternoon, but later it was decided to proceed with the game, and although the green was wet and holding, the draw was true, and whatever was lacking in the elements was more than compensated for by the jovial spirits of the opponents. After a very enjoyable game the holders retained the trophies by a good margin,' the details being as follows: — ..... Holders. Challengers. Pearson D. Whibley Huntley „„ Healev F. Whibley Christie Roore (s) 30 McColl (s) 14 A challenge has been entered for the Stevenson Pennants, the pairs being: Pearson and F. Whibley (s), holders, and Healey and Christie (s), challengers. A rink representing the Foxton Club will visit Palmerston North on Saturday and play a match with Spooner’s Mannwatn rink for. the Manson and Barr Cup. The team will consist of Ross, D. Whibley, Roore, Nye (s).
