A SAD CASE.

Christchurch, Yesterday. Janet Scott, about thirty-seven years of age, and her eight-year-old daughter, were found dead in their home at Clifton, Sunnier, yesterday, apparently asphyxiated by gas. The husband was from home, and, as deceased had not been seen since Wednesday by the neighbours, the police were informed. On investigation they found the bodies in bed. One end of a tube was attached to a gasburner, and the other was in proximity to .the heads of deceased, the gas being turned on.
