RIFLE SHOOTING.
A shoot for the Claris Cup was held last Saturday, at 200 yards, under a.fair attendance. Weather conditions were nearly ideal, there being a. perfect light and very little wind. Consequently the scores were very good and even. Rflm. Hamer made a “possible,” and Rfim. McKegnev 49, thus gaing 3 points and 2 points respectively. Pres. Head gained 1 point, beating C. Rand on the handicap. Tim scores showed the high average of 40.3, and ]/ere as follows: —
Next Saturday the first shoot for Mrs Parkes’ trophy (first prize) and Retailers’ Association trophies (second and third pi’izes) will be held, af 300 yards. There will be no shoot on Saturday, 21st (Foxton races). •
