ROYAL PICTURES.
“The Silver Greyhound,” screening at the Royal to-night, is an entirely British production, giving a vivid description of the amazing and eventful life of a King’s Messenger. Introduced human touches, one especially where Nance Lisle, a down and out girl of the slums, forgets her own great troubles in the presence of another’s, and inspires new hopes to the young Messenger, who, through shame and humiliation at the loss of a valuable State document entrusted to his care, was about to commit a fatal act. The acting and photography throughout leaves nothing to be desired. As an extra, “The Branded Four” will be shown.
“Madonnas and Men,” at the Royal on Friday, has an all-star cast, including Evan Burrows Fontine, Edmund Lowe, Fa ire Binney, Andres Randolf, Raye Dean, and Gustav von Sefferitz. It is a tensely dramatic story of ancient Rome and modern New York. The production as a whole, the playing of the all-star cast, and the many stupendous scenes, such as the Roman Coliseum, the Roman Ampitheatre, the throwing of the Christian martyrs to (lie lions to m/fke a Roman holiday, the Broadway cabaret, and (he modern scenes in the home of the millionaire, and the dressingroom of the “Follies” girls. On Saturday the star attraction will be “Dinty.”
