The first round of the Triangular competition was played at Levin yesterday, in pleasant weather conditions. The two teams representing the local Hub appeared to have had a day “off,” as their perform-

ance was not as good as was expected, but nevertheless they had a pleasant outing, the Levin Club treating the visitors very hospitably. The game between Roach (Shannon) and Rankin (Levin) was a hard contest, the decision being in doubt throughout, and the ultimate scores were even -20 all. the following are the details: —

It is probable that Shannon will send a team to Otaki on AVednesday next to compete for the Kinniberg Feathers.

The Following are the order of precedence of (he challenges for the Dixon Cup:—Eketnlmnn v. Palmerston N. (N. IT. Nash), Pahialun, Mnnn'wnfu, AYoodville, Foxton, Levin, Shannon, Feilding.

The following challenges for the Munson and Barr Cup, held at present by Feilding, have been entered: —Palmerston N., Manawntu, Foxton, Woodvillc, Shannon, Levin.
