OBITUARY.
AIRS. AI. RAND—AGED 75 YEARS
We regret to record the death of Mrs Alary Anne Rand, wife of Air Robert Rand, which took place at her daughter’s (Airs Lee) residence, Avenue Road, last night, after a long and painful illness, aged 75 years. Deceased was born in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, where she was married, and where two of her children (Councillor C. C. Rand and Airs Alorgan) were born. Deceased came out to New Zealand with her husband in 1880, in the ship “Pieone.” After a short residence in Bunnythorpe and Palmerston, deceased took up her residence in Foxton 37 years ago, and has resided here senee. Deceased leaves a husband and two sons (Messrs C. C. and R. Rand), and five daughters (Airs Morgan, Airs Leo, Airs Hurst, of Rongotea, Airs C. Cave, and Aliss Alice Rand) to mourn their loss. The late Airs Rand possessed a kindly nature, and was held in high esteem by a large circle of friends. The husband loses a faithful helpmeet, and the family an af-i fectionate and devoted mother. The sympathy of the public will be extended to the bereaved husband and family in the irreparable loss they have sustained. The funeral will take place to-morrow, leaving her daughter’s residence, Avenue Road, at 2 p.m. for All Saints’ Church, and thence to.the Foxton cemetery.
