MOUTOA DRAINAGE BOARD.
A meeting of the above Hoard was held on Saturday last. The returning officer reported the election of Messrs \V. E. Barber, K. Easton, E. S. Easton, A. King and J. Ghrystall as trustees, and who had been duly gazetted. On the motion of Mr Barber, seconded by Mr King, Mr l l '. >S. Easton was elected chairman.
Mr Chrystall reported re dragging part of main cut, at top end, which lie thought had been effective, but had to be discontinued on’ account of too much water. The Chairman said a good fall was noticeable at the lower end_.
Mr Barber opened the question again of deepening the 92 chains. Upon discussion it was decided to ask Mr Hickford, County Engineer, for an estimate of cost of deepening, say, 12ft. wide on tho southern side, with a view of considering the advisability of calling tenders. Tbe meeting to decide was fixed for December 3rd.
