ROYAL PICTURES.
“The Silent Barrier,” a pidurisation of Louis Tracy’s novel of the same name, is a tense drama with a fine flavour of romance running thfough it. It has a caste of allstar proportions, including Sheldon Lewis, Corinnc Barker, and Gladys Tlulelle. The pic lure tells a tale of adventure, suspense, intrigue and romance in the Swiss Alps, and though the story carries conviction in its development, the striking feature of the produel inn is its scenic investiture, realistic to a marked degree. A comedy, “Wedding Bines,” will he shown as an extra. A special feature will he vocal and instrumental items by “The Pioneers.” Prices of admission will he fid and Is Id, children half-price. The toughest and most dangerous hand of crooks ever gotten together were used in the underworld scenes of “King, Queen, Joker,” Sydney Chaplin’s initial Paramount production, Which is the attraction at. the Royal on Monday. The lender of this desperate hand conducts his activities from a royal chamber, luxuriously furnished, and possessing every modern and unique tea--1,, rc. Into'this den Mr Chaplin enters, an outsider, posing as a fellow crook, and he immediately discovers that it means instant death for a spy or traitor to he found in the crock’s rendezvous. As an extra a yf { ,ek Bennett comedy, “A Summer Day,” will he shown. Prices as usual.
