FOXTON RETAILERS’ ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the above was held on Thursday evening. Mr D. W. Robertson (president) presided over *a good attendance. Matters of a formal character were discussed. The following new members were elected: —Messrs Thorp and Tongs, A. A'dmore, 11.,I 1 ., R. &L. Meat Company. GO'VERXOR-f IENERA V S VISIT. It was decided to close all business premises from II a.in. to 2 p.m? on the 28th inst., on the occasion of the Governor-General’s visit. CHRISTMAS TREAT FOR It was unanimously decided to make every attempt'to eclipse previous efforts to give the children a real good time at Christmas, and to load Father Christmas with an almost unsupportable burden of gifts for distribution.

Other minor matters were discussed, and the meeting rose.
