Alesdames Perreau and Woods challenged the Levin holders (Mis Kirk and Miss Whittaker) of Hie Hornblow Badges, and played a strenuous game on the Levin lawn yesterday. An indication of the strategic battle may be gathered from the fact that it lasted for just on four arid a,-quarter hours, and resulted in a win for the holders by 8 points. The game was played on Levin’s new, full-sized lawn, and the local challengers had their first experience of the Henderson rigid hoops. Challengers and holders represent possibly the best players in each Club. Another challenge game will he played at a later date. Alarked improvement is shown by a number of last year’s local players this year, and the games played this season have been very interesting.
