PLUNKET SOCIETY.
A Committee meeting was held in the Plunket room yesterday arternoon. There were present : Mrs Austin-Johnstone/ (in the chair), Mesdames McMurray, Pearson, Moorhouse, Cowley, Tong, Hynes, A. Boss, S. Austin, and W. Symons. Apologies for absence were received from Mesdames Chrystall, Trueman, S. Easton, F. Robinson and Walton. The Secretary reported that the assistance promised to date was: Messrs Madge Bros.’.char-a-banc to carry the nurse free, Mr Kirkland will provide luncheon for Nurse Bosher free, Mrs W T alls and Mr Perreau will provide morning tea on alternate days free, Messrs Robertson and Co. will lend a set of scales, Rev. Walton a free advertisement in the Church Chronicle. The following ladies have donated furnishings for ihe room: —Mesdames F. Robinson, Bergin, C. Robinson, Moorhouse, A. S. Easton, S. Easton, A. Ross, Freeman, W. Symons, Ausl in-Johnstone, and Mr Healey. It was decided to held a shop day next Saturday, and a number of gifts were promised.
Nurse Bosher will make her first visit on Friday next. A talk to mothers will he given from 3 to 4 p.m., also a demonstration in baby’s bed making.
