PALMERSTON RAILWAY DEVIATION.
DEFINITE PRONOUNCEMENT
SHORTLY.
Recently Mr J. A. Nash, .M.L\, tabled the following llvo questions in the House of Representatives:— (1) Will the Government adopt the Railway Commission’s report relative to the projected removal of the station and the deviation >4' the railway line at Palmerston North; (2) if so, will the Railways Department immediately point out to Hie Borough Council the proposed site for the new goods shed, so Ilia I it might proceed with the selection of sites for the proposed electric power station and the gasworks ? The Prime Minister, the Hon, W. F. Massey, undertook to go into the matter at. an early date. Interviewed by a “Standard" representative, Mr Massey said that the questions raised by Mr Nash were included in the schedule of matters lb come before Cabinet this week, and he would very shortly make a definite pronouncement on the subject.
