CRICKET.

A notice is inserted in our advertising columns tl>-day that a general meeting of all interested in cricket will be held in All Saints Schoolroom on Friday evening next, at 8 o’clock. The purpose of this meeting is to see if cricket can be definitely established on a sound basis in Foxton, which it is hoped the meeting will prove, but failing this meeting being a success it is possible that efforts to promote the game locally will be abandoned. On this account it is urged that intending supporters of the game will be present, and do their bit for the welfare of this sport.
