DANCE.

All Saints’ Young Men’s Club and Girls’ Guild held a plaih and fancy mpsk ball in the Town Hall last night. There was a very large attendance, and the event proved both a financial and social success. Some very pretty fancy costumes were worn, and a prize was awarded the weaver of the best costume, made oC fibre. Messrs E. and C. Bryant officiated as M’s.C., and carried out their duties to the satisfaction of everyone.

A band of workers spent considerable time in preparing the ball and supper. The decorations were very artistic. Those who assisted were: —Mesdames Walton, Christie, Spring, Sealmry, R, C. Easton, Henskey, Burr, Head, and Middleton, with Messrs J. Lock, C. Wilson, J. Crowe, F. Lockwood, C. Francis. Mesdames Walton, .Christie, Seabury and Trueman were (be chaperons. The music by Larkin’s Orchestra was appreciated by everyone, and the lively strains of the tunes kept (lie dancers going briskly. Mr Christie had charge ,of (lie ticket box. Messrs Lock, Wilson and Harris officiated as door stewards. The proceeds go towards building a club room for the members of the two clubs, and financially the members are well pleased with the effort.
