THE BUTTER MARKET.
STATEMENT BY PREMIER
Wellington, Last Night.
Replying to Mr \V. 11. Field in the House of Representatives to-day, Mr Massey said that in view of what was happening in this country, lie had cabled to the Imperial Government, asking them, in the meantime, not to place their stocks of butter on the market. To this he had not-had a reply; but he expected that a reply would come to hand at any time, when he would make a statement to the House on the subject.
