FOXTON HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

COTTAGE GARDEN COMPETITION.

The local Horticultural Society, in order to promote and stimulate interest in cottage gardens, offers a number of prizes for same in connection with the Smmraer Show. For garden attached to cottage, Mr A. Speirs has donated a trophy valued £1 as first prize, and Mrs AustinJohnston a trophy valued 7s fid as second prize; work to be done by any member of the family; previous winners not. to compete. Entrance fee Is.

A further prize of £1 Is has been donated by Mr W. Petrie for vegetable garden attached to cottage. The gardens will be judged at Show time, December Ist and 2nd. Schedules for the Summer Show may be obtained from the secretary, Rev. T. Halliday,. or at Mr Patterson’s chemist shop.
