ROYAL PICTURES.

A British Actors photoplay, entitled “The Castle of Dreams,” is screening at the Royal to-night. It is a story of a May and December union, in which May pays more attention of December’s cheque book than she does to the details of her household and her daughter’s welfare. Her husband confronts her with an accusation of neglect, and this causes a quarrel and a separation. The child is brought up by the father in a small village, and one day while out riding she discovers her castle of dreams—the residence of n- rather wild family. A dissolute member of the household meets her and proposes marriage, and a visit to the big city, which she has never seen. The idea appeals to the girl, but her mother, who, residing at the castle, learns of the plot, and returns to the husband she deserted as a last means of saving her daughter. As an extra, “ihe Branded Four” will be shown.

Alice Joyce essays an entirely new and charming role in “J he Prey,” the fascinating screen play, which is to lie shown on Friday. In this Vitagraph special, Alice Joyce takes the part of a girl whose father and brother are daring and losing—gamblers. She does not know how badly involved thgy are, and when a young attorney who -is in love with her refuses to help her father out of a hole by aiding in an unscrupulous scheme, she rejects bis suit. Her father’s suicide forces her into a hateful marriage to a man who holds a financial whip over her relatives. Just how she is freed is told in a fascinating way in the play. A comedy will also be shown, entitled, “Start the Show.” On Saturday, Jack London’s great masterpiece, “The Mutiny of the Elsinore,” will be screened.
