MIDDLEWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP.
The professional contest Between .J. Heeney (Gisborne), list., and L. Cadman (Auckland), list. 41bs., for the middleweight championship and a purse of £l5O, was decided at New Plymouth on Saturday, in the presence of about 1,200 spectators. After a good, fast exhibition, Heeney retained the title, defeating the challenger by a knock-out in the eighth round. Heeney proved too good throughout, showing marked superiority in close work,
