REPORT
The High Commissioner’s cable, dated Bth inst., reads: — Manila market firm and steady, J grade, July-September, AugustOctober shipments, sold £39 15s; September-Novcmber, October-De-cember shipments sold £4O. New Zealand met a fair Continental demand early this week, and a fair quantity was sold by seond-hand holders on the basis of high points, October-Dceembcr, January-Mavch shipments, £3B 10s, £39; fair ditto, £3O 10s, £37. Demand cased off later; quotations now about 5s 0d lower, shippers not offering, asking higher price, spot value high points about £42 10s, fair £3B.
