BOWLING
At a meeting of the Committee of llie local Bowling Club on Wednesday, the Secretary announced that be had received invitations to members of the local club to be present nt the opening of ' the following clubs: —Otaki, on Bth ins!.; Shannon, on ltltli hist.; Levin, on Labour Day. Alar ton green will he. opened to-day.
The local green will be officially opened on Wednesday next. Alembers of both the Bowling and Cropiet Clubs are respectfully asked to bring a basket to assist with the catering. A large number of visitors •ire expected from neighbouring clubs.
The Committee appointed Alessrs TTawke and F. D. Whibley to arrange rinks on opening day.
On Afonday, Tuesday, and Wednesday morning next volunteers will be required to assist in the neces--ary preparation of the green. * hi Ibis connection all able to assist dtould communicate with the Secretary and intimate at what hour ihey are able to attend.
