There are numerous features about “The Passionate Pilgrim,” 10-iiighl’s star, which makes it one uf the most notable productions released by Paramount.' It contains heart appeal and dramatic quantity. The beauty of the settings, combined with the excellence of the -cast, make it a picture which once seen will not soon lie forgotten. On AVednesday the great special, “La Tosca,” will he shown. The mere announcement of this famous opera should he a sufficient guarantee of a high-class entertainment, but the fact that it is produced and features the great Italian operatic star, Francesca Bertini, is certainly worth special mention. The acting is superb. The scene in which Tosca refuses to conceal the hiding place of Angolitti, while her lover, Cararodossi, is subjected to the most excruciating torture, and her gradual breaking down at the agonising cries of her lover, is a wonderful piece of work. The great St. Andrews Church is probably one of the largest and most impressive interior scenes ever photographed. “La Tosca” is a production of rare quality.
