TOWN HALL PICTURES

Rupert Julian, who has adapted •‘Creaking Stairs” (the Universal feature to be screened at the Town Hall to-morrow evening), has already made a big reputation for getting strongly dramatic effects with bis “Mother O’ Mine,” and this nutnoer will add greatly to that repute. In this picture he has evolved a gripping, logical situation, which has more thrills and suspense than the best melodrama. Mary Maciaren, starring in “Creaking Staffs,” is cast in the role of “Dearie Lane,” a girl who takes life much as it comes, hut marries a man after telling him of her mistaken relations with another man. Things go .-moo Lilly until the other man arrives at her home, and after a short argument he drops dead at her feet. Exciting and absorbing situations arise, and the key to each is a complete surprise. A storm scene is marvellous. “Leaping Lions and Jailbirds” (star comedy), “King of Circus” (serial), and International News are supporting pictures. Usual prices, (id and Is Id,..children 3d.
