“THE MYSTIC MIRROR.”
TO-MORROW NIGHT.
At the Town Hall to-morrow night, the Foxton public will have an opportunity of witnessing a very successful children’s opera, produced by Palmerston N. talent, in aid of the funds of All Saints’ Children’s Home. “The Mystic Mirror” is an entertainment quite unique for Foxton. It is a fanciful opera, crowded with delightful music, captivating songs and original dances by talented principals and chorus. Every line of dialogue is clever and the plot gripping. About ninety children trained to perfection, play the piece in quite a professional manner, the vocal ability of the several entrusted with solos and duets being particularly fine. The characterisation throughout is realistic; the juvenile artists play their parts with the utmost ease and confidence, and the opera, a charming one, is made the most of. An efficient orchestra will accompany the opera. The Palmerston Standard, writing of the production as staged in Palmerston, says, inter alia : “The plot is absorbing in interest, and full of intrigue, Frequently scenes occur which call for great emotional interpretation. In acting, all the principals displayed a remarkable talent, and as was the case with the entire chorus, entered into their work with great enthusiasm. The entertainment was the essence of brightness, and the happiest children’s production imaginable.” The prices of admission to-morrow night will lie 3s. 2s, and Is. Box plan at Heath's.
