DEATH OF MR J. R. STANSELL.
The dentil occurred in Wellington on Hwudii.v evening of Mr John Rainbow Stansell, wlm wa- well known throughout the Wellinglon province, at the age of 78 years. Mr Stansell was born in London, and came In the Dominion when he was 15 years ol‘ age, landing at Tima ru. He was secretary of the Canterbury Jockey Club in the early days, and later came to the Wellington district. For a number of yea its lie was Mayor of Foxton. and he was one of the founders of Shannon. He was also one of the founders of the Farmers’ Union in the Otaki district. Latterly Mr Slanscll resided at Lyall Day, Wellington, where he was instrumental in the formation of the bowling club. He was an enthusiastic bowler, and was a member of the All White team of howler-' which visited Australia. He leaves a widow and ten children : Messrs Dob Stansell, of Kennedy Bay, Auckland; Arthur Stansell, of Auckland; W, F. Stansell, of Haleombe; A. J. Stansell. of Palmerston North; P. R. Stansell, of Wellington; Mrs Vickers, of Levin; Mrs Lodge, of Upper Hutt; Mrs Reid, of Auckland; Mrs Rapev, of Paremata; and Miss S. Stansell, of Lyall Bay,
