CONSTRUCTION OF AEROPLANES.

SYDNEY FIRM'S CONTRACT,

A definite connection between aviation and Australian industry in several of its branches has been established, says a Melbourne message, by the fiual approval now officially announced as having been given by the Air Council, to the construction of six Avro training aeroplanes by a Sydney firm. Only the formality of Ministerial confirmation awaits the signing of the contract.

The plant and material at the firm’s works were inspected and approved by experts of the arsenal and aviation branches of tho Defence Department, and ample facilities were found to exist for the satisfactory undertaking of the work on the engineering and constructional sides.
