SLY GROG-SELLING.
Auckland, Aug. 19,
At the Police Court, Jack Erceg, proprietor of a restaurant, was fined £4O, and 1 Charles Thomas Beamish, his assistant, £lO, for sly grog-selling. Evidence was given of the sale to detectives long after hotel hours, of beer at 2s per bottle, and whisky at 17s 6d.
