SENDER GOES TO GAOL.

Christchurch, Aug. 17

John Daniels, who was convicted at Westport of sending a false telegram, was brought up for sentence at the Supreme Court this morniug. Mr Justice Herdman said that- the case was not one for leniency, as it was clear that prisoner had made up his mind to live the life of a criminal. He was sentenced to two vears’ hard labour.
