FIRE BRIGADE.
MONTHLY MEETING,
The monthly meeting of the Boston Fire Brigade was held in Perreau’s buildings on Tuesday night, Capt. H. Hamer being in the chair. A letter was read from the Secretary of the United Fire Brigades’ Association, pointing out that if the Brigade wanted any hosing it would be cheaper for them to order it now, as the Government- was indenting a quantity, and would make,no profit on the quantities required by the Brigades.
Decided to write to the Borough Council and ask them to procure four one-lmndred-feet lengths, and stating that the Brigade would be pleased to receive any information re the situation of the fire plugs, The secretary (Mr H. M. Carter) asked for leave of absence for three weeks. —Granted. WRECKING GEAR,
It. was decided that the Secretary wait on the secretary of the U.F.B.A. while in Auckland, and ascertain what would be the necessary gear required by a small brigade.
It was decided that the Treasurin’ meet the Fox ton Racing Club in connection with services required by them. Decided that the Secretary write to the Borough Council, asking for a refund of the money paid for Insurance fee and subscription to the U.F.8.A., amounting to £G 19s Gd.
BENEFIT ENTERTAINMENT.
In connection with the Entertainment- to be given to the Brigade by Messrs Hamer and Son, in which the Brigade is to receive the whole of the takings, it was decided that the prices be Is and Is Gd, children half-price.
