“HELP THE MOTHERS.”
So far the only donation received on behalf of the establishment of a St. Helen’s Hospital at Palmerston N. for this hospital district is ten guineas from the Mayor. It- is only fair that Foxton should contribute its fair quota to the establishment of this deserving institution, and in this connection £IOO is little enough to set as an objective. In all other centres throughout the hospital district committees are taking up the work with enhusiasm, and funds .are coming in freely. The object- of the hospital is to train nurses for maternity eases throughout the district, and to take in cases at- reduced fees. Foxton will benefit equally with' any other centre, and should contribute its proportion of the initial cost. The institution will he conducted by the Health Department, and will be no further chargp. upon the district. £IO,OOO .is required to establish the hospital, which is urgently required. Donations from one shilling upwards will be thankfully received by the Mayor or Mr Hornblow.
