RACING CONFERENCE.
MEETING OF CLUB DELEGATES
A meeting of delegates from all the clubs within the Wanganui racing district was held at Marton on Monday.

Air Perrett presided, and in welcoming tbc delegates expressed gratification at the large attendance. The first matter to lie discussed was the issue of complimentary tickets by the clubs, and he invited the fullest- discussion.
Air W. Duncan moved that the issue of complimentary tickets be resericted to the Governor-General and staff, Ministers of the Crown, members of Parliament, stewards of district clubs, secretaries of district clubs, postal and railway officials in towns where races are being held, president and secretary New Zealand Racing Conference, members of district committees who arc not stewards of other clubs, members of Racing Conference on application, stewards and officials pf other clubs on application, newspaper representatives, prominent racing men (tit bo issued at discretion of clubs); the above recommendations not to apply to hunt clubs. The following amendment was moved: That the attention of the various clubs be.drawn to the extravagant issue of complimentary tickets, and that tiie clubs he asked to set up strong sub-committees to reduce the issue to a minimum. The amendment was defeated.
It was next moved as an amendment that the issue of complimentary. tickets, with the exception of ladies’ complimentary tickets, be abolished. The amendment was lost on the voices.
Mr Duncan’s original motion, with the addition of the words “that all complimentary tickets hear a charge of 25,” was then carried unanimously.
It. was next resolved, on Air Beckett’s motion, that tickets to district stewards should be issued hv the district committee in the form of an annual ticket. Fractions was the next subject discussed, and the chairman moved that it he a recommendation.to clubs to pay out to the nearest 3d. The motion, which met with a good deal of opposition on the ground of the extra work that would be involved, was defeated on the voices. Air W. Duncan moved that it he a recommendation to the various clubs that the closing time for nominations and entries be not later than 9 p.m. The motion was defeated.
On the motion of Air McKenzie, it was decided to recommend that in hurdle races and steeplechases an official should be stationed at every jump. It was decided on Mr Johnston’s motion that it he it recommendation to clubs that a uniform £1 nomination fee he charged, and £l. per centum acceptance fee on the total stakes paid. “
