BEAUTIFYING SOCIETY.
A commit tee meeting of the Fox
ton Beautifying Society was held on Tuesday afternoon. Present: Messrs Perreau (president), Moorhouse, Trueman, Ilornblow, Poole, C. Symons. It was resolved to turf the slopes of the bill at the old cemeterv, as it was pointed out that there was a danger of the w.ind boring into the bank?-, and doing considerable damage, unless the slopes were protected. A price for
the work was submitted by Messrs Evans Bros., and accepted, the work to he carried out at once, to the satisfaction of the engineer, Mr Murray. It was also resolved not to carry out Mr Black’s scheme in its entirety this year, but to plant the trees in the localities marked on the plan, and hedges on the north and west boundaries, and to leave the paths and garden plots over until next season, in order to

Mr Moorhouse said that a state

It was decided to convene a general meeting at an early date, when a full statement would be submitted. It was the general opinion that alt

It was recommended that the Easton Park sub-committee plant a suitably live hedge along the front entrance.
