The first case heard was that against a Shannon resident named McDonald, who was reported by Mr Rhodes, the referee in the Hui Mai-Shannon match. McDonald was said to he the ringleader in the disturbance. This, however, he denied, but admitted that he was shouting, but not hooting. lie also admitted that he threatened to “ping” Mr Percy, chairman of the Referees’ Association, if he attempted to push him behind the line.
