DEATH OF AN INFANT
CORONIAL INQUIRY
A Coronial inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the death of on infant, Leonard Patrick Thomson, infant son of Mr and Mrs Thomson, of Foxton, who died yesterday’, was held in I hi 1 Courthouse to-day, before Air A. I'raser, coroner.
Afrs Thomson, in evidence, stated that during the night of the 2nd August the child had been very restless, and had cried a good deal. On awaking at S a.m. and taking the baby in her arms, she found lie was dead.
Dr. IVilliam James AlcDonald, who conducted a post-mortem, said the child was well nourished and well developed. The organs were in perfect order except the thymus gland, which was enlarged. In his opinion death was due to either pressure on the wind pipe, due to the enlarged gland, or to the pressure on the nerves in the neck, causing spasm of the glottis. due to the enlarged gland. A verdict was given in accordance with medical testimony.
