ENTERTAINMENT AT OROUA DOWNS.
On Thursday evening the members of the Afethodist Choir journeyed to the Oroua Downs to assis-t in a concert in aid of the funds of the Methodist Church. Hammond’s Hall was filled to overflowing with a keenly appreciative aildience, and it was the unanimous opinion that Iho entertainment was one of the best yet held at the Downs. The Choir rendered -oiteral glees, but the feature of the evening was Urn mystery parlour, under the magic wand of the Rev. Mr Minifie, who succeeded, in mystifying the audience with a very clever exhibition of the conjuror’s art, of which he is a clever exponent. Ollier contributors to i lie programme were Mesdame- Bullard, Osborne, Minide, Miss Evans, Messrs Osborne, King, Bullard Burling, Thorn and Whitley. The accompaniments were played by Miss Evans, Messrs O'Neil (violin), and Thornbur. The choir items reflected much credit upon the conductor. Mr Osborne. A very dainty -upper was handed round by the iadies, and an enjoyable evening was brought to a close with Iho singing of the National Anthem.
