VANDALISM.

INDIGNATION was expressed by Councillors and members of the Beautifying Society who visited Easton Park on Tuesday, al the damage done to young trees and .shrubs by stock. The reserve bus been securely fenced, and a fair amount of money was expended by the Society last year in planting. It is hardly conceivable that owners of stock would turn animals to graze on the reserve, yet: this lias been done, with the result above stated. We are pleased to state that the authorities are taking steps to prevent nocturnal grazing in the future, and an example will be made of the offending owners.
