WOOL CONTROL.

REGULATIONS ABOUT TO BE

GAZETTED,

Regulations relating to the sale and control of wool are to be gazetted this week. They are expected to provide for the constitution of a Wool Control Committee on the lines recommended some time ago by the Producers’ Committee. The Wool Committee will have authority to limit offerings, fix reserves, and make financial and other arrangements in connection with hold-over wool.

The operation of the regulations will not mean any immediate change in existing conditions. The limitation of offerings and the maintenance of minimum reserves are being enforced already by the brokers in consultation with the Producers’ Committee, and it appears that holders of wool generally are satisfied that the measures adopted are in their interests.
