WARNING TO “HANGERS-ON."

THE local police are to be commended for their activities in keeping a watchful eye on men who persist in hanging about hotels after closing hours. The recent penalties inflicted by the Magistrate, and his strictures on “hangers-on,” should he taken as a timely warning by those who fail to quench their thirst; within legal hours. Apart from thin the licensees do not desire the presence of these men on or about the premises after hours, whatever their custom may he within legal limits, as convictions of this nature may prejudicially affect/the renewed of their licenses. The Magistrate has made it quite clear llup in dealing with future eases of this nature the penalty will be more drastic.
