CORRESPONDENCE.

(To the Editor.)

Sir. —In these hard times, what with high prices and scarcity of work, those of us who have to depend upon our hands for a living, cannot afford to waste our money n anything but what is necessary. Well, Sir,'l use gas in my house, and I do not use it exaravagantly. I know that meters wear out, but I can guage the quantity of gas I use, and what it should cost. Now, Sir, my gas account has jumped up and the meter reading is alright, but I object to pay for adulterated gas — more air than gas. If the law prosecutes the milkman for breaking down his milk it should prosecute the Council for supplying thin gas. We should pay for a proper standard of gas, or if the Council is going to continue the thin mixture if should reduce the price, ns I cannot afford to be victimised. —Yours in anticipation, WORKER.
