TOWN HALL PICTURES.
Saturday.—Ethel Clayton’s latest 'liecess will head the bill at the Town Ilall Pictures on Saturday, when usual prices, (id and Is Id, children 3d. will be charged. The story revolves round the theme of “Whether a lie is permissible to save a friend’s happiness.’* Two women, both accomplished in the gentle art of lie-telling, hut widely differing in their motives, become involved in “The Ladder of Lies.” Ethel Clayton characterises the disinterested friend, and Jean Acker the contrasting type of woman, able support being rendered these artists by Irving Cummings as the gay adventurer. The plot unfolds naturally, while in the background there is ever suspense. A first-rate series of supporting pictures will be included in flic programme.
