RIFLE SHOOTING
Brilliant weather, with a light westerly breeze, prevailed 1 asjt Saturday, when a friendly match with HautVe Rifle Club was held on the local range. The teams were of ten men, firing at 200 and 500 yards, 10 shots at each. As usual, the wind was tricky and changeable, - and, combined with the low, facing sun, proved rather troublesome to the visiting team. In fact, the general opinion was expressed that the Foxton range has a worse layout than any on this coast. The shooting was good generally, the local team doing especially well at 200 yards, and the fesult was a win for Foxton by 25 points. Scores were as follow :
