HIGH COMMISSIONER’S CABLE. The High Commissioner's cable, dated 23rd inst., reads: — Manila market quiet, but firm; little offering, and business difficult. Value of J grade, March-May shipment, £39 10s to £4O. £36 10s refused for K grade, March-May shipment, £37 wanted. Stocks in Manila at 31st March, 344,000 bales, against.2,3oo last year, and 389,000 previous'year. Stocks in Great Britain 71,000 hales, against 2,300 last year, and 118,000 the previous year. New Zealand market very dull, spot high points sold at £4O, afloat £39, value fair not over £26 to £27, though nominally quotations unchanged. Stocks in Great Britain 31st March, 675 tons, against 925 last year and 350 the previous year.
