BOROUGH COUNCIL
SPECIAL MEETING
A special meeting of the Borough Council was held on Wednesday night, to consider tenders, estimates .for the coining year, rates, and general. Present: The Mayor (Mr John v, Chrystall), and Crs. Bryant, Coley, Hunt, Pearson, Parkin, Thompson and Walker. TENDERS. Messrs Rolls and Milieu’s tender for the supply of 100 man-hole covers and 400 step irons was accepted subject to specified times of delivery. GAS CONNECTIONS. An application was received from Mr Perreau for connecting his premises with the 2-inch pipe previously agreed to. Owing to the C. M. Ross Co. not agreeing to the previous arrangement, the work had been hung up. The previous decision of tho Council was read, and the Council decided to abide by the resolution previously carried. Cr. Coley urged that the gas connection at the school be expedited, as the work was necessary, and had been left over for at least six weeks.—Work to be attended to. The estimates and rates for the ensuing year were approved.
