HIGH COMMISSIONER’S CABLE, The High Commissioner's cable, dated lGtli inst., reads : Manila market tinner towards end of this week, with little belter demand; grade, May-July shipment sold '£37 per ton early this week, and up to £3B 10s per ton later; Fcbruary-April shipment sold at £4O 10s per ton. Output Ist Januray to 31st March 187,000 bales, agaiiisi 341/100 same period last year; shipment to Great Britain 41,000 hales, againsl 120,000 bales; quality of shipments lower grades very unsatisfactory for some time, and heavy allowances have had to be made. New Zealand market continues dull in absence of consuming demand; quotations nominal, high points spot £44, April-June shipment £4O, fair £4O and £3B respectively.
